Consider implementing these 5 strategies to your Pinterest account today to start increasing traffic.
Social media or search engine?
While pinterest is often lumped into the same category as other social media, it definitely has a different asthetic, and really could be considered a search engine and should be treated a little bit specially compared to other social media strategies. I assume most people have used it before, but if not Pinterest is a social curation website for sharing and categorizing images found online.
The thing I love about pinterest it is the place where users hopes and dreams become mood boards of colourful images and wish lists. It allows users the chance to explore topics or hobbies they may not encounter anywhere else. It's a place to dream, and as a creator a place that can bring long term traffic an traction.
So, today I am going to share my 5 fastest tips to help improve your pinterest traction... but be sure to add a comment below if you have other ones that you think are more important
1. Pinterest loves pins that link to valuable resources. In simple terms, if you are adding pins and they are not linking to a valuable location, they will not be placed in front of your desired user. So, if you are selling something, be sure to send users to value pages, not just product links.
2. Use the same link, over and over as long as the image varies. Pinterest does not care if the destination is the same, so you can link to the same page as many times as you want, as long as there is variety in the image, title and caption.
Consider batching for pinterest and make 10-15 artworks for the same product with a variety of headings and captions, and then review what performs better.
3. Simple keywords make your pins easier to find Sit in the mind of the user for a minute and imagine what you would need to search for to land on your pin. Use those keywords in your artwork, your title and caption (in as many iterations as you can come up with).
4. Look at the ideas pages to see what is performing well go to https://www.pinterest.com.au/ideas/ and look at the collections of similar ideas. In this area Pinterest will show the best performing, or most pinned items in these collections. If you are stalling for ideas on what to create today, check here for inspiration.
5. Don't be afraid to give a paid push for higher performing pins If you notice a pin is performing well organically, don't be afraid to give it a small paid push from time to time (only available for business accounts), unlike some of the other platforms I generally feel like you get pretty good bang for your buck with paid pins.
This list is by no means definitive, but if you have any other tips, drop them below!

Before I added supplementary income to my music studio, I was a pretty normal music teacher.
Teaching all afternoon and early evening, adding more and more students wherever possible and resigned to the fact that my income would remain very sameish if I kept going the way I was. Well it doesnt need to be that way, take a look around and let me show you how!
